We have a unique collection of photographs from Roi Namur the first battle that the HQ Company was involved in.
We are looking for more pictures of the other campaigns that the 4th Marines participated in.
We are fortunate to have a series of letters that Lieut Phil Wood (KIA Saipan) wrote home. In then are several fantastic descriptions the operations the 4th Division took place in. On the Roi Namur page he provides a graphic description of what the battle did to this idylic tropical island. On the Personal Stories page I have reprinted his letter home telling about the battle of Roi Namur in detail.
